I teach children (from 10 years), teens, and adults how to read music and play the drums.

Lessons are delivered in a safe, comfortable environment, with excellent hearing-protection headphones for backing tracks and overhead room mics to monitor the kit at a safe level.

Whether you’re preparing for an exam, aiming to join a band, or just want to play for fun, I would love to help and guide you on the way. Before moving to the UK I was Percussion Lecturer at the Sydney Conservatorium of Music and later Head of Performance at La Trobe University in Melbourne. I studied with Australia’s finest teachers and furthered my training in New York with the legendary Elden C. “Buster” Bailey, widely regarded as one of the greatest snare drummers of all time.

Beginner and Intermediate Drum Kit Lessons

Learn to feel the pulse, understand rhythm, and play with solid time. We’ll develop four-way coordination while exploring a wide variety of drum beats and grooves

Good snare drum technique is essential. We’ll master stick control and drum rudiments. Our lessons will include duets, etudes, and rhythm exercises to build musicality and confidence.

I provide engaging resources to inspire your practice between lessons. We’ll also learn to read music and explore music theory — but most importantly, we’ll have fun as your skills grow.

With regular practice, great progress is absolutely within reach.
